Honestly, I wasn’t so sure that I could come up with a superior vegan face treatment that would meet the absurdly high standards that I set for my products. I wanted to create a formulation that is essentially both DAY and NIGHT cream at the same time, meaning that it has AMAZING restorative, rejuvenation, and balancing qualities, AND is SUPER moisturizing, soothing and protecting, all at the same time…. yeah, I know…
Why is it so hard to create good vegan face care?
Technically speaking a ‘cream’ has both water and oil based ingredients. In order to make this happen you need an emulsifier to bind the two together, as oil and water doesn’t mix. This is where it gets sticky… I have yet to meet an emulsifier or emulsifying wax that I would want near my skin.
Whaaaat, but you make creams? Yes, and this is where my creams MAJORLY differ from others… You see, most ‘normal’ creams consist of 60 - 80% tap water, or ‘aqua,’ if you want to fancy it up, needing an emulsifier to hold it together.
Conscious Cosmetics Creams contain 0% ‘tap water,’ and 35 - 40% water based ingredients (Colloidal Silver Water, and Organic Aloe Vera Gel). I create a 'suspension' (visualize a scaffolding that both water and oil based elements can hang on to) with Beeswax only, creating very concentrated and rich skin food.
In general emulsifying waxes are not horrible, but in my opinion contain ingredients that don’t contribute to the well being of the skin, and I much prefer the amazing antiseptic, humectant, and protective properties of beeswax. Of course this leaves me in a 'catch 22' when creating a vegan product.

How do you create a treatment that consists of plant butters and oils, and yet make it ‘feather light’ and ‘non-greasy?’ LOL… well, that is for me to know, and for you to enjoy ;)

Be Hot Stay Cool!
* Please keep the Face Butter cool (room temp. is fine), out of direct heat and sunlight, as it will melt. No worries, it happens... If the product has melted, just stir it a bit (chopstick or backside of a teaspoon), stick it in the fridge for 20min. and you are good to go!
